Kindermusik Virtual+ Class Descriptions
Our Kindermusik Virtual+ includes Kindermusik classes. Below are descriptions of those classes so you can choose which ones might be best for you. Of course, classes are unlimited so you are welcome to come to them all!
Foundations
Age Range: Newborn – 18 months (or so)
Session Length: 45 minutes with caregiver
Make baby’s first class musical! Our Foundations classes offer a sensory-rich yet caring and gentle environment where infants can explore and react to new sounds, sensations, and objects. Shared activities for babies and their caregivers provide the opportunity to strengthen your connection with your child through joyful music-making experiences.
ACTIVITIES:
- Listening to and experiencing songs and rhymes
- Back-and-forth vocal plays and other parent-child interactions that build neural pathways in a baby’s developing brain
- Exploring baby-safe instruments and other object play
- Baby-caregiver bonding exercises including story time, massage, and relaxation activities
SKILLS & BENEFITS
- Increased balance and control over movements and strengthened core muscles
- Development of listening and back-and-forth communication skills
- Introduction to a variety of spoken sounds and rhythms that will support language and literacy development
Mixed Age
Age Range: Newborn – 7 years
Session Length: 45 minutes recommended with caregiver; 30 minutes during evening class
Our mixed-age classes are perfect for families with children of any age between newborn and 7. These classes allow infants through seven-year-olds—and their caregivers—to gather together for a fun-filled learning experience. Your Kindermusik educators will help you modify movement activities, group dances, and instrument-play activities so all children can enjoy at their developmental stage. Mixed-age classes offer the perfect setting for weekly family bonding time and inspire ideas for more music exploration, play, and more fun at home.
ACTIVITIES
- Exploring movement concepts and participating in musical interactions with objects and others
- Discovering different ways instruments can make sounds and experiencing a wide range of musical concepts
- Identifying and vocally imitating sounds and learning to describe them
- Learning to associate a picture with a sound
- Singing songs with language patterns that explore rhythm, speech sounds, syntax, and rhyme
SKILLS & BENEFITS

Level 3
Age Range: 3 years up to age 7
Session Length: 45 minutes with or without caregiver
We’ll be using Level 3 and Level 4 curriculum to challenge and engage all children preschool age up to age 7.
Level 3 classes engage preschoolers’ natural love of music and activate their imaginations. A wide range of learning opportunities boosts language skills, confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, and self-control.
ACTIVITIES
- Experiencing a variety of sounds and learning how sounds are produced by playing musical instruments, speaking or singing
- Playing instruments with an emphasis on steady beat, repeated rhythm patterns, graphic notation, and ensemble music
- Engaging in creative expression and language play, expressing feelings and ideas through movement and music
- Pre-reading music and learning to interpret graphic notation symbols, a precursor to learning traditional music symbols

- Growing ability to detect patterns, nuances, and timbre in sounds, a critical skill for music and language development
